The mission of Family Promise of Sussex County is to secure housing stability and sustainability for those in crisis…because everyone deserves a home.
Our vision is that every individual and family shall have a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future. We offer many services and a dedicated team of individuals that are available to assist our clients in obtaining these goals.
Family Promise Programs & Initiatives
Utility Assistance
The winter months can cause utility payments to increase and become difficult to manage. Family Promise of Sussex County can assist you in Applying for Aid with your Utility Costs.
You may be eligible for Assistance with Electric, Natural Gas, Oil and nearly any deliverable fuel. Even if your heat is included in your rent, you may qualify.
Mobile Outreach
Mobile Outreach staff can assist Sussex County residents who are homeless or eminently threatened with homelessness. They can assist with emergency supplies and transportation to shelters, medical appointments, or agencies to obtain necessary identification.
Eviction Diversion
This program provides wrap-around assistance to renters facing eviction in Sussex and Morris Counties. Our Resource Navigators will support at-risk households by providing access to housing resources, advocating on their behalf in the court system while also working closely with legal services, landlords and community-based organizations to prevent eviction and restore stable and sustainable housing.
Housing Stabilization
Eligible program participants must have an Order of Eviction and lock-out date. Program provides short-term financial assistance to stabilize families facing a short-term financial crisis.
All program participants are required to engage in case management services and life-skill seminars. Call to complete the intake process.
Making Access Possible (M.A.P.)
Making Access Possible (M.A.P.) is an interactive Geo map that allows you to access local resources such as housing, addiction services, mental health, legal services, utilities, employment, transportation, senior services, and food pantries. These resources are available across four counties: Sussex, Warren, and Morris.

Tri-County Continuum of Care
The Tri-County Continuum of Care is a collaboration of agencies that work together to coordinate services and housing for homeless individuals and families throughout Warren, Hunterdon, and Sussex Counties, NJ.
